This beauty is a mix of “drinking the Kool-Aid” (a person or group holding an unquestioned belief or argument without critical examination) and “not buying it” (not believing). And if you add Jim Jones to the mix, “buying the farm” might be appropriate. A big thanks and maybe some Kool-Aid to Paul Kaufman for sending this one in!
